Carleton University is located in beautiful Ottawa, the capital of Canada. Founded in 1942, Carleton has grown into a dynamic research and teaching institution with a tradition of anticipating and leading change. Today, the university sits on more than 100 acres, on a site between the Rideau River and the Rideau Canal, just a short distance from downtown Ottawa.

The nation’s capital is home to over 130 embassies and high commissions from around the world, government and non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and numerous museums. Entrance scholarships: Qualified applicants are automatically offered entrance scholarships ranging from $4,000 to $16,000 CAD over four years, and a place in one of Carleton’s on-campus residences.

Post Graduation Permit

374 out of 384 programs are eligible for Post Graduation Work Permit.

The Post-Graduation Work Permit Program (PGWP) enables students who have graduated from participating Canadian post-secondary institutions to gain valuable Canadian work experience. Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has released a preliminary list of programs that qualify for the PGWP. Based on our current understanding, which may be subject to changes, these programs are linked to fields of study that correspond to occupations in long-term shortage or meet new requirements.

Cooperative education (or co-operative education) and internships are methods of combining classroom-based education with practical work experience. A cooperative education experience ("co-op"), provides academic credit for structured job experience. Co-ops are full-time, paid or unpaid positions. Internships may be full-time or part-time, paid or unpaid positions.

Conditional Offer Letter

Even if students do NOT meet Carleton's minimum English requirement (IELTS or TOEFL), they can still be conditionally accepted to the program of their choice. Carleton will admit students to the degree program with the requirement that they complete up to three English language classes during the first terms of study.
