Founded in 1968, Capilano College is located in in Vancouver, British Columbia, with its main campus located just a 30-minute drive from downtown Vancouver. The North Vancouver campus is surrounded by a lush forest and fresh mountain air, and is an inspiring setting in which students are able to learn and grow. The University combines both traditional university programs, including philosophy, English and physics with more unique fields of study including outdoor recreation management, jazz studies, and motion picture arts. It enrolls approximately 12,700 students each year, 9,000 in for-credit programs, nearly 1,200 in non-credit courses and 2,500 international students.
Capilano University prides itself on its hands-on approach to learning and problem solving. The university offers students small, interactive classes that are geared towards both learning about and addressing real-world challenges. Students build the skills, knowledge and experience to launch their career with confidence through individual attention and personalized learning. Their instructors are professionals who practice what they teach in the field. Classes have 25 students on average, so instructors can give individualized support and attention to every student in a class.
Workforce Connections and Experiential Learning: Capilano University instructors have credentials in fields from Business and Music to Applied Behavior Analysis and Tourism, with connections forged through years of work experience within their respective fields. Many programs offer practical, work-integrated learning experiences in the form of co-op and work practicum placements.

The Post-Graduation Work Permit Program (PGWP) enables students who have graduated from participating Canadian post-secondary institutions to gain valuable Canadian work experience. Based on our current understanding, which may be subject to changes, these programs are linked to fields of study that correspond to occupations in long-term shortage or meet new requirements.
